First of all, I have to say our English study group should find others to join us because I think it is a little boring only three discuss with. Second, can the gathering time be changed? On Sunday, I usually go home late after hiking.
Let me bring to my topic: "Does Studying in Bed Hurt Grades?" in the magazine, p38-39. This is very interesting topic to me. Until now, I have annoyed this.Ha! When I come off duty, I like to read some novels in bed. If I feel a little tired, I will fell into sleep without taking a bath because it is so comfortable. It make me annoyed because I can't finish what I plan to do at night.
If we want to do something needs concentration, we should be in a good environment,a clear desk with a bright lamp, noiselessness or listening music and no other thing we are worried about. After preparing such environment, we may concentrate on what we want to do right now and do it better. So before starting to study, it is better to clean our rooms and desks, and finish some trifle that may disturb our study first.

What kind of heat have you ever experienced through the road of learning English?
Hi guys,
I believe you have already read through the article "If you cant's stand the heat..." And now I am wondering what kind of heat have you ever experienced through the road of learning English? That's an interesting topic, isn't it?
Of course, I know it's kind of embarassing for you (and even me) to share such funny anecdotes of yourselves. So, we can share those things that happened to someone else, how about that?
I have three storied to share.
The 1st one happened to my colleague. Honestly, his English is quite poor in my company. Even though I found he has already made some progress in these days, his written English is still below average in my opinion. The thing just happened in his 1st month on board. In the bottom of an email he sent to a Japan colleague, he would like to write 'Thank you very much' originally. But finally he wrote 'Think you very much' instead and sent it out directly. What worse was he CC this email to a lot of people at the same time.
The 2nd and 3rd ones are what I read in BBS. There is a boy trying to pick up a girl through water balls. Please read their conversation log I extracted as below:
Boy: What's your star sign?
Girl: Scorpio.
Boy: Really? I heard that Scorpio girls are quite sweat. Are you sweat?
Gril: ..... sweat? what the hell?.....
I believe this girl is not gonna respone this boy any more.
The last story is about an email a boy received from a Japan girl classmate. The girl wrote the following sentence which is unforgettable for the boy forever: 'I will be wetting for you.'
Oh my god! What the hell did her mean! Which part on her body will be getting wet on earth?
Ha, I hope you would enjoy these little stories l share.
Thanks,
Hugh

What's the difference between migraine and headache?
The article "Making Headway on Migraines" on page40, January 28-29, is talking about symptom, misunderstanding, treatment of migraines, and after reading this article, I'm curious about one question: are migraine and headache the same or different? It seems that migraine could make someone more suffering than headache. So, does anyone know what's the difference between migraine and headache?

Let's cheer for Taiwan's beasball team!
Hi all,
Reading the article Olympic Countdown reminded me of the final Olympic qualifying baseball tournament held soon in Taiwan from March 7 to 14. That this tournament got my attention is, of course, because our national baseball team is one of the eight teams in it and is expected to have lots of tough challenges after the battle of baseball is launched. Only three of eight teams are able to get the ticket to fly to Beijing this summer. This is a tough competition, isn't it? Let's cheer for our national teams that are on the way to Beijing. Let's wait and see how they will earn respect from people around the world for our country. Go go, Taiwan teams!
For more details about the baseball tournament at the 2008 summner Olympics, please refer to here.

Do the methodology and logic that you have been trained with in school really do something helpfun on your work?
Hi all,
After reading the Q&A article derived from the interview with Rowan Atkinson, the actor famous for his character Mr. Bean, I was a little surprised at the change that he became an actor from a student in EE field. He more or less agreed that methodical and detail-oriented kind of thinking taught him conversely to approach humor with a disciplined and logical methodolgy. So, I introspected and asked myself: Do the methodology and logic that I have been trained with in school really do something helpfun on my work? Given that an actor can think and act in a methodical and logical manner, it would be a shame if I couldn't do my job in this way. I am an engineer after all.
I guess my answer is Yes, although I'm sure there are still lots of details on my working processes can be improved. How about you?

Doing exercise is a good way to prevent burnout.
There are lots of ways to prevent burnout, and doing exercise or reading novels is what I do to prevent burnout. Maybe you don't think I would burn out because I work in CHT, but recently I'm looking forward to the weekend on Monday. Ha~Ha~
As long as the weather is not raining, I would play tennis off duty and I found that it does benefit to my mood. Reading novels could make me change my attention to the story, not always thinking or worrying about the work.
Maybe someone would say "I have no leisure for doing exercise or reading novels ", I don't know how to respond this..haha~
